Dear Ohio Cobra Club Members;

On behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, thank you for your continued investment in the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Your gift and pledge of $100,000 for this year is remarkable. These funds will go a long way to helping us reach our ultimate goal, finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. Through raffle sales for the exquisite 2007 COBRA to sponsorships and donations it is my pleasure to acknowledge that the event was a tremendous success due to the generosity of your members, sponsors, participants, donors, and countless others. Additionally, since the OCC is a 100% all-volunteer enterprise, the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the Cobra owner is evident in it’s fundraising accomplishment. Bravo!

In just the past 10 years, the CF Foundation has played an integral role in the development of four therapies that are now a part of the daily regimen of thousands of CF patients: Pulmozyme®, TOBI®, azithromycin and, most recently, hypertonic saline. In 2005 the median predicted age of survival for those with CF rose to 36.5 years, more than double what it was in 1980.

These are indeed promising signs of progress, but of course this is not enough. We would like all people with CF to live long and healthy lives. To ensure that we can support the development of new treatments and a cure for CF, we need your help.

This year, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation currently has more than 25 potential therapies in our drug discovery and development pipeline, many of which could have a significant impact on the disease and any one of which could lead us to the ultimate cure for CF. To make sure that these projects advance as swiftly as possible so that new therapies can get from the laboratory into the hands of those who need them most, we need your continued support. We have the technologies, the talent and the tools to bring an end to cystic fibrosis.

With the generosity of friends like you, we know we can make it happen. Again, on behalf of all families living with CF and the friends that love them, thank you for your major gift. I know that countless hours were spent in planning, preparing, implementing and relishing the 2007 London Cobra Show. It is truly a burnout celebration of the best kind!

Happy Cobra-ing,,

Bravo to OCC and the participants of LCS! Does anyone know how Jenny Smith is doing? (I think that's her name-the little girl who first inspired us to support the CF cause.)
