Fabricator Lower control arm

I have purchased a LSC and need to update the lower tubular control arms, does anyone know of a fabricator making the new heavy duty ones? I was given a name but that person has not gotten back so I'm looking else were before buying a set from Ultimate Classic, since I live in the DFW area. Any help would be great!

I'm about to make a few sets of my super improved version. To eliminate the bind from slight misalignment of the funky little rear tab, I'm putting a heim there. I'm also using a bronze shouldered bushing for the front pivot. While they look quite different, the geometry is the same.

I broke one of mine about 2 years ago and made myself a set then. I'm making some for a couple other Houston guys, and thought, once I'm set up, made a jig, and cutting parts, the marginal extra work to make more is not that great, so I'm making 4 sets this round, and only 2 are spoken for.

Here's a pic of mine installed.

Last year I bought a pair from Speedway and made them work. I had to weld a piece supply with the control arms to the frame. I used a 3/4" right angle drill to drill a hole in the LS frame. The whole project was pretty easy.

I think this is the lowers I bought

I have a set of the updated ones from Ultimate that I bought about 6 months ago, and have only had mocked up on my car but never on the road. I think I only have a ball joint installed in one of them. I've been sliding down a slippery slope of changes to my car as I put it together and the stock control arms aren't going to work for me any more. PM me if you're interested and I can send pictures. I'll let you have them for a fraction of what Ultimate wants for them.

First of all, thanks for a Lone Star owner's reply !

I sure with our website forum was a lot more active. One of the upgrades I've wanted to do since 2001, is the front suspention, the arms suck. Can you give me details of what all you did and include any photo's would be great.

What manufacture are the original a arms, ball joints, front rack, etc ?

I can't beleive the newer Cobra's are not made for FE engines !

Dwight 08-19-2018 06:29 PM

Mustang rack, Mopar ball joints, after market upper and lower arms.

FUNFER2 08-19-2018 07:42 PM

Do you know what brand of arm's ?

Dwight 08-19-2018 07:44 PM

The original Lone Star arms?

No.

FUNFER2 08-19-2018 07:53 PM

Thank you.

Dwight 08-20-2018 04:35 AM

are you trying to buy original Lone Star lowers?

FUNFER2 08-20-2018 07:28 AM

No, I'm wanting higher quality tubular arm's, like you have. Speedway is near me so I'll check them out. What's the good and bad about yours ? Was their any mods you had to do, to mount them ? How well do you like them, etc....
