Greenwood Lake Run

I have set up a run to Greenwood Lake. The date is Saturday August 2nd; I will send all the details in the next week or two.

For those of you who did not make the trip last year we take a nice ride up to the Bear Mountain Bridge and down seven lakes drive to Greenwood Lake.

We will be having lunch at Emeralds Point over looking the lake. They have plenty of parking for us. Lunch is $15 per person.

UPDATE:
Folks, I would like to get on the road for our trip to Greenwood Lake no later than 9:30 so that we will arrive at the restaurant between 11 & 11:30. I would like to use Nicks place as our starting point if that is ok with all of you.

Southern State Parkway West to Meadowbrook Parkway North
Meadowbrook North to Northern State Parkway West.
Northern State Parkway West to Cross Island Parkway North.
Cross Island Parkway North to Whitestone Bridge.
Over Whitestone Bridge entering the Hutchinson River Parkway.
Hutchinson River Parkway approx 7 miles to Cross County Expressway
Cross County Expressway approx 2 miles to Sprain brook Parkway North.
Approx 15 miles merges to Taconic State Pkwy North (Sprain brook & Taconic are very scenic highways)
Approx 25-30 miles to Route 202 West. Getting off Taconic this will be a right turn at the light.
Approx 2 miles bearing right to follow signs to Bear Mountain State Pkwy
Approx 3 miles up a mountain road making a Right across bridge - Signs say Rte 9 North
Crossing bridge go 3/4 around traffic circle to Rte 6/Rte 202
Camp Smith military base will be on the right after traffic circle. Hudson River will be on the left.
Approx 4 miles along Hudson River make Left over Bear Mountain Bridge.
Continue halfway around traffic circle follow Rte 9W South/ Haverstraw
Short distance to bear Right at the light following Seven Lakes Drive where we will make our way into greenwood lake town.
Let’s hope for nice weather and a big turn out.
Thanks,
Bobby

Bobby,
I'm in northern NJ and would love to join you guys...is there somewhere I can meet up with you en route? I drive up there on occasion with some Porsche clubs and the drive is fantastic!

I would like to join up as well, since the proposed route is pretty much my weekly outing, usually early Saturday or Sunday.
I am near the GWB on the Jersey side, I'll try to be there
cheers

Gentlemen, maybe you can join us when we reach Bear Mountain? from there we will make our way down to the Lake.
Regards,
Bobby

Hey Bobby,

Rick Weber here...I was hoping to join in as I live along your route. Unfortunately, gotta work...gotta buy GAS ya know.

Anyway, I was looking at your directions and I believe that once you exit the Taconic Pkwy headed North...Rte. 202 West is a LEFT at the light at the end of the exit ramp. I believe if you make a right you will be headed East toward Yorktown. I'm not 100% sure of this but I believe I am correct.

Hope you all have a blast and that weather is just like today. Sorry I'll miss it.

Rick

Thanks Rick, I will double check and make the correction. sorry you will miss the run.
