128-bit SSL encryption ?

In the renewal for a paid web site, the message below was in the instructions. To me, it is implied that the 128-bit SSL encryption is the best there is when using the internet with a credit card for payment . Could someone ( s ) with the technical expertise comment and how does this differ from Pay-Pal?

" If you are planning to pay by credit card, please be assured that the payment process is run under industrial-strength 128-bit SSL encryption "

............thanks

They are simply reminding you that if you use a credit card on their payment page, it will be encrypted for your safety.

Any site that accepts credit card info should use an encrypted page and exchange the data with a secure server (SSL)...and you should see a little 'padlock' at the bottom of that page on your screen, indicating that that page is encrypted...meaning the numbers and data are not transmitted in plain-text.

When you want a secure site check the web address. It should be a https not a http. Is is for secured. Maybe someone could explain better. This is what I have been told.
