Wind Power-Follow the money
|
There is corruption in every thing any more it seems. They are getting the area ready to build a couple of large wind farms in the mountains a few miles from here and have already had two big scandals that resulted in one of the developers just leaving and not notifying anyone they were pulling out. Now another wind company had decided to take on that project as a lot of the hard work, permits, bribes, and etc, have already been done.

I heard the feds had interfered with one company so bad, they just up and left.

Tru,
I am not sure if you were talking about one of the wind farms here or one somewhere else, but they had gotten past the Federal crap. There was some kind of scandal about pay offs to certain state officials, but nothing was ever proved and then the environmentalists started in about it ruining their view. You can see the windmills from their homes if you have a good pair of binoculars. They when they, the environmentalists learned that their electric rates were going to go up a huge amount without the wind powered generators, they started protesting to get them back. The last report that I saw, both sites have been graded and prepared and they are working out a route for the power lines. But work has been stopped now that it is Winter and it will be some time before any wind mills are actually built. Ron |
