The city I live in wanted to put a dog park on land that is unbuildable. The land is a really old landfill that leaks methane. Next door is a wetland nature center. They blocked this because they were worried about pet polution. ON A OLD LANDFILL !!!!! Jim

Jim,
There is an old landfill about 5 miles from my house that we used to haul all of our garbage and junk to before they closed it years ago and covered it over with a layer of clay. Not is just sets there close to the railroad tracks and they won't use that area for anything. But I would almost bet that if some developer came along and offered the local crooks, ( politicians ) enough money they would ok it for them to build on it. Then if things proceeded as normal around here, after people moved in they would condemn the houses because they were built on top of that landfill. You wouldn't believe the millions the Redding group wasted on an old railroad depot that they just had to have to build on and then after wasting all that money they decided it was to expensive to clean up the area. Now they are broke and in the red and want to spend $15 million on an old out of date building to rebuild for a new police station. Ron |
