Twas the night before Christmas....
Twas the night before Xmas in my garage
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twas the night before Christmas and all through the garage, There wasn't a a trace of a Chevy or even a Dodge. The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit, So I figured I'd mess with the Cobra for a bit. So I popped the release and I lifted the hood. When a deep voice behind me said "Looks pretty good!" Well as you can imagine, I turned pretty quick, And there, by the workbench, stood good ol' Saint Nick! We stood there a bit, not too sure what to say, Then he said "don't suppose that you'd trade for my sleigh?' I said "No way Santa, and started to grin, "But if you got the time we could go for a spin!" His round little mouth, all tied up like a bow, Turned into a smile and he said "Hell Yeah, let's go!!!" So as not to disturb all the neighbors' retreat, We pushed the Cobra quietly into the street. Then , taking our places to drift down the hill, I turned on the key and I let the clutch spill. The sound that erupted took him by suprise, But he liked it alot, by the look in his eyes. With Goodyear's a crying and headers aglow, We screamed on out where the muscle cars go. And Santa's grin widened approaching his ears, With every shift up as I went through the gears. Then he yelled "cant recall when I felt so alive!!" So I backed off the gas and said "You wanna drive?" Ol' Santa was stunned when I gave him the keys, When he walked past the headlights he shook at the knees! When that V8 exploded with pure exhaust sound! Santa let out the clutch and the tires shook the ground! Power shift into second, again into to third! I sat there just watching at loss for a word. Then I heard him exclaim as we blasted from sight, "Merry Christmas to all, it's a hell of a night!!!!" Merry Christmas everyone. |
Double Thumbs Up!
Thank you. I really liked it. And Merry Christmas to you and everyone on Club Cobra.

Merry Christmas |
I love these Christmas poems! :)
...I was kind of hoping we would see one of the first, the classic Shelby Night Before Christmas (law suits, etc.). But maybe it's best to replace it with this excellent piece! Well done. |
Here is one I wrote ten years or so ago.
It was the night before Christmas It was the night before Christmas And all through the house; Everyone had gas Even the Mouse The kids were all tucked All snug in their beds; In case someone tooted They could cover their heads The stockings were hung By the chimney with care; In hopes they’d all get New skid mark free, underwear Mom in her robe And me, fresh out of my coat; I knew it was time To go pinch a loaf When out on the porch There rose such a clatter; Santa was taking a leak It was beginning to splatter Santa was happy A right jolly old elf; He smelled something funny And started checking himself With Santa’s keen nose He smelt a stench in the air; He looked and he looked But nobody cared When Santa bent over To open his sack; The only thing shinning Was a big plumbers crack With tears in his eyes He said, “What do they eat; This air is so thick And smells worse than my feet” Santa gave up Threw the toys in the air; He said, “Life is too short This is curling my hair” Santa mumbled something As he rushed for the door; He said “I’ve had all I can stand And I can’t stands no more” As Santa Claus left He was headed for Reno; He said “Merry Christmas to all Next year, I’m bringing Beano” |
Twas the night before Christmas, and all thru the house,
not a creature was stirring.........There were NO SPOONS! |
