Three Democrats Ditch Re-Election Plans

This is somewhat of a surprise.

Looks like that perennial piece of crap Dodd is "cutting and runnin'".I guess he knows when he's reached his limit of screwing his constituency.

Even rats know to leave a sinking ship.

one word........yay!

Excaliber 01-06-2010 01:36 PM

...drat, it's looking real dim for the Unicorn as the rainbow fades. :)

Insert big smile here!

Here's the basic problem for the Repub's anxious to take advantage of this Dem disaster. They are broke! It's like this big sale has just come to town and you run to the piggy bank only to find it empty. Bummer,,, all that's left in the piggy bank is "hope". :)

fastd 01-06-2010 08:56 PM

Ex,
You are stuck on Dems vs. Repubs. Do you really think that a ultra right winger is better/worse than an ultra left winger? News flash: a large majority of the country is neither.

The message from Dodd and the two other losers is this: they can not win in their next election because the electorate has rejected their BS. It doesn't matter whether Repubs have money or not.

Excaliber 01-06-2010 09:51 PM

Oh I'm not really stuck on anything, I'm just playing the devils advocate because the over whelming numbers here lean hard right. But your point is spot on. In fact, I see a mellowing of "hard right" here on CC and it allows for a spirited discussion and a real learning experience.

Having said that, oh yeah, the Repubs are going down in flames man! :)

We don't want to get so close to the middle we become vanilla flavored after all.

Yup, actually a good thing Dodd is out, projections were he didn't have a chance at winning anyway. I wouldn't underestimate the money factor when it comes to campaigning. Lack of it could in fact be a serious problem for the Repub's in the mid terms.

Ron61 01-07-2010 04:39 AM

The hard right people just cancel out the hard left leaners. Throw both bunches out and listen to what the more balanced of the two groups say. Then throw the Democrats out.

Lack of it could in fact be a serious problem for the Repub's in the mid terms:

That will also be true for the voting public if the Great One has his way.

And another Democrat bites the dust.

Dodd said he was going to make an effort to fight corruption in D.C.-so he quit.

Ron61 01-10-2010 05:18 AM

:3DSMILE:

And that is probably the first thing he ever kept his promise about.

Ron :)

fastd 01-10-2010 06:00 AM

Dodd is a s***bag of the first order (my other top offenders include: Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, Pat Leahy, I'll stop here); my strategy is to vote against single incumbent unless I saw him/her stand up and do something of distinction; my list of worthy incumbents is very short. Based on this news story, I think many others have the same strategy.

Ron61 01-10-2010 07:53 AM

Don't forget Reid, Pelosi, Fienstien, Boxer, and a number of others that are nothing but lying a** ho***. The whole bunch needs to be replaced and I mean both parties.

Ron

Excaliber 01-10-2010 11:02 AM

...and who would we replace them with that wouldn't just as quickly fall into the same old Washington mold? :)

fastd 01-10-2010 11:04 AM

Replace them with random names from the phone book (with term limits).

Excaliber 01-10-2010 11:08 AM

...now term limits might work.

Ron61 01-11-2010 05:12 AM

They would. People like Reid and Pelosi should be limited to 1/2 term.

Ron
