Could be the same issue with a cell phone provider as well. My Hawaii phone on "roam" just really sucks.

In fact, yesterday I bit the bullet. Signed a two year contract with AT&T for a 8 meg pixel Sony Cyber shot camera phone. I mostly send pic's with my phone, no net surfing, no text, just talk and pic's so it should work out OK. 450 minutes, roll over, some other stuff, it totals to about $55 a month.

Meanwhile, I am LOVING Skype!!! I've been using it as my primary number since my Hawaii cell has been so flaky. Works great, I may keep giving it out as my primary number and get call forwarding to my cell for when I'm away.

The biggest issue in my life these days is where are we meeting for coffee this morning? :)

Ernie,
You can possably get a cord that you can hook up to your phone that connects to a USB on your computer and transfer them to it. That way you are not being charged minutes for sending your pictures. You can just e-mail them that way.

No problem sending pics in email, I can do that right now by simply plugging my exisiting cell into the computer. Sometimes I prefer the phone to phone pic thing.

I like to send pics "on the fly", out and about, spur of the moment, like from a car show, a road trip or even the backyard (where my new garage is under construction as we speak)!

Works great. I use it for videoconferencing between my son and his grandmother. Never a problem.

I was reading this thread and just had to say that this post was excellent -

Great allusion to past panics and tendancy to hyperbole. 10/10 :)

[Also I use skype at work but only on our VPN so I can see other peoples screens and to do instant messaging - considering exending to home for the son to see his distant relatives]

Back to regular programing
