So Sam Raimi stands up and tells Sony that he can't make Spiderman 4 properly and meet the release date - he wants more time, especially on the script, to avoid a rehash of Spidey 3's problems.
Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and the other continuing actors all stood up behind him. Sony fired them all. Spiderman 4 will be a new cast, new director reboot with Peter back in high school. Just something to think about next time you think you're essential to your boss. |
Tobey is such a jerk, I'm surprised he has lasted this long.

Lots of H'weird talent are jerks. I know what you mean, though - on getting his first big role, he turned into a fan-baiting schmuck, too big to sign autographs or talk to the little people.
I predict his career is pretty much over. We'll see him in perhaps one more big movie, in which he'll phone in the effort, and then a declining string of B stuff. |
Good for the Sony execs to take a stand!
Now maybe some actors with real talent can have a chance instead of the same ol' outrageously overpaid paparazzi-seeking Hollywood "celebrities". I'm sick of these "out-of-touch-with-reality" fame seekers who think they are someone special. I see a movie because (hopefully) the story will be entertaining, not because of who is in it. Some of the best movies have had relatively unknown actors...but with great talent. Rodger |
