Huntsville AL Hit by a Tornado
Everybody is OK, no loss of life. But I saw my first tornado ever. Came out of work and the sky was absolutely freaky. Blue sky on one side, and black on the other with all kinds of hues of orange in between. I actualy saw the funnel cloud form right then without knowing what I was seeing. As I drove home it got bigger, and when I pulled into the school parking lot to pick up the kiddos it was sky to ground, about 6 miles away.

Glad you & your family are safe Mike.

Darn Mike, That is scary. I am really happy that you or none of your family was hurt and also than no one was killed. |
Glad everyone is good Mike.
BTW, if you ever see a sky like below, head for cover. This was one scary night. http://gitwisters.com/gallery/main.p...serialNumber=1 For anyone who wants to know it was Grand Island NE. June 3, 1980. 7 tornadoes in the city limits in just over 2 hours. I was 7 years old and the house I was in was ripped off of my head by the F4 as it passed though town. I spent the next 20 years being deathly terrified of Tornadoes. |
If you look at that link I provided above, the picture including blue sky was what I first saw while driving on Redstone Arsenal. Joe, that is indeed an evil sky!
