A Journalist hits the streets with a petition to BAN the 1st Amendment to see if there would be any interest.

Unbelieveable

That would stop the hateful and negative talk to many here engage in? Hmmmm, I'm thinking, I'm thinking, he might be onto something. :) :)

Nah, it would get to boring without them spewing their kool aid in everyone's face.

So if you call out Obama it's hateful, but if you call Bush every name in the book it's just free speech?

Excaliber 01-28-2010 10:11 AM

The difference in the attacks on Obama vs Bush are significant.

The hate from the left directed towards Bush was much worse than anything directed towards Obama from the right. It's not even close.

Tit for tat

Therin lies the major weakness in political systems consisting essentially of two major opposing parties. Progress of the country is always hampered by focus on the negative and opposition of everything - including the good - that whichever incumbent party attempts to accomplish. The system functions not to execute of the will of the people but to manipulate the emotions of the people to serve the interests and benefit of the political party itself. Instead of the party being a tool to serve the people, it is the other way around - the people become the pawns to serve the party.

Ernie,

I like your new avatar. Now if we can just work on attitude adjustment you will fit right in with the real people. :3DSMILE:

Ron

Excaliber 01-28-2010 11:10 AM

I thought a little color would brighten your day Ron. :)

Ron61 01-28-2010 11:24 AM

:)

It does look better than the unicorn I think. I have a monkey one somewhere in my pile of Avatars that would work but it doesn't really look that great.

Ron :)

Ernie, you know you have to be nice to Ron otherwise he'll be letting Bomelia come over on the weekend to splash a fiberglass mold off your ERA's body. Not that I have a problem with helping Mikey out you understand, but it's gonna be hell on your paintjob...

Ron61 01-28-2010 11:28 AM

Almost as bad as what they got all over it on the boat. I don't know what else they had in with the cars but what a mess they were. I had to clean his Cobra some before I could even start selling parts off of it.

Ron :D

I agree 100%. Most politicians care about themselves above all.
