I was raised in Sonoma County (just north of Marin), and Tom Price is one of the few yuppie gear heads in Marin who actually races his collection. He has enough auto dealers and owns enough high dollar property in Marin that $30 million is a drop in the hat.

The GTO is the Scuderia SSS car S/N 4757 - raced at LeMans back in the day. The 275/4 is the Rodriguez/Posey driven car that managed 2nd in class at Daytona in '67, and I think was a DNQ at LeMans that same year. I'm pretty sure that the SWB and 250 TR are replicas. I've had Kroymans on the list to visit next time I got to Holland - I've been wanting to see S/N 10311 for a while. It's original colour was a rather ugly yellowish ivory colour called Avorio - and it raced in that colour. It's Fly Yellow now - very bright and looking like a lot of other 275/4s. Steve |

Hey Steve, Is that Fly Yellow the factory yellow? There is a man here that has a car hauling business and he had a bright yellow one and a green one on the truck one day and I was looking at them. He said they were both factory colors, but for some reason the yellow and green just didn't look like Ferrari to me. I guess I am just caught up with the Ferrari Red and I think they should all be red or something. If I had to chose between the Yellow one he had and the green I would have taken the Green. Ron :) |

Yep - Fly Yellow is a factory colour. There are actually 2 different versions of it, but they look almost identical. There is also what I call Francorchamps yellow - it's the yellow that J Swaters Belgian race team painted most of their Ferraris in - it was a bit more mustardy than Fly. There are some other colours you would never think would be on a Ferrari: Prugna - a burgundy purpleish metallic Viola metallic - Ferraris version of Plum Crazy, but a bit brighter. Azzurio Dino - May as well be Grabber Blue. Rosso Dino - almost a florescent reddish orange. Celeste metallic - pale mint green metallic. And surprisingly, it look pretty good with a burgundy interior. Verde Germoglio - I think it translates as 'Germ Green'. This is a non-metallic bile green colour that could only have come out in the early '70s. Amazingly, I think blues and silvers/greys were the most popular on street cars. Steve |

That must be the color of the one that I saw here. I haven't seen any of those other colors an any of the Ferraris that are around here. They are all the Red. A friend of mine has some neighbors that own Ferraris and theirs are all red. I guess I just always associated Red with the Ferrari car. Ron ;) |

Here's a Dino in 'Germ Green'. Kinda reminds me of Sassy Grass or one of thoe other Mopar colours.

It's a pretty rare colour. I go to a lot of Ferrari shows and have never seen one. You will not likely be seeing a duplicate if you are driving one, so the uniqueness value is pretty high. I can't imagine it would be an easy colour to live with though - and I am a sucker for green cars!

It is the only green one that I have even seen but I have seen three or four of the yellow ones. Thanks for all of the information about the colors they did use. I really didn't care that much for it, but I think that was because I like the red as the car was great. Ron :) |
