This BS Happens To Often

Part of stolen lottery jackpot is returned to Grand Prairie man

Don't ever trust anyone to check your lottery numbers. Saw a show on this and it was amazing how often store workers lied to ticket holders.

When it was found that many lottery clerks had an above average number of "winning" tickets, the terminals were all changed. The new terminals have both a visual and an audio display so the customer sees and hears the results when the ticket is checked. This will not completely eliminate fraud but it sure makes it more difficult to cheat the customer.

Ralphy,

It wasn't clear to me, how did Willis Willis ever prove he had an interest in the ticket at all?

I'm not much of a lottery gambler. I've maybe bought 5 tickets in my life, because my wife bugged me. But out of the first pair, one hit $100. The clerk got so excited, I thought he was going to wet his pants. And I guess $100 isn't all that common, after asking friends, so maybe that's it.

I later wondered if the advice to have the clerk check it was good when I comprehended how it worked. He immediately paid me out of the till.
