Sinkhole Swallows Car

Just saw this. It was in Richmond. A very impressive sinkhole and you can still see some dirt falling near the end of the video.

That's over 50 feet, unless it's a 5 foot long car.:eek::D

John,

That was quite a hole wasn't it. I believe I heard one of the firemen at the scene say something about a culvert running underground about 70 to 100 feet from there. But it didn't look all that wet in the video to have been caused by water washing out the dirt under the road.

According to what I have read. It is 50 ft long and 30 ft deep (guessing 20 to 30 ft wide). Darn Gophers anyway.:LOL:

:eek:

Terry,

Those must be some of the gophers that I have been trying to get rid of for years. It is hard to walk in my upper lot because of sinking into a gopher tunnel. But I am slowly getting rid of a few of them with the poison smoke bombs. I found 3 dead ones that had made it out of the tunnels and died on top of the ground.
