He was a good man.Don't remember ever hearing anything bad about him.Lead an honorable life.

Born an raised north on Lubbock,Texas in Plainview.

I remember watching his show and seeing his commercials....

Yup, that's a good one. Takes me back to when I was kid. R.I.P. Jimmy

Met him once at a private party in Ft Worth. He broke out his guitar and did a few tunes, one of which provoked a response from a snooty female in the room who said with a cheap southern drawl..."Jimm-ehhhh, I dawn't think I like yaw music vere much..." to which he replied, "Well.....do you like my meat?" The room erupted in laughter.

Hmmm. This is kind of an old thread that seems to have popped to the top. I missed it first time around. Jimmy lived about 3 miles down the road from me. My wife was his personal assistant for a couple of years. We we're invited to their Christmas parties. He and his wife, Donna Meade, were entertaining and gracious hosts. In many of his traits and behaviors, for better or for worse, Jimmy reminded me very much of Caroll Shelby. You wouldn't want to get on his bad side, for sure. RIP.
