I can't get the highest speeds in this area, but I use this test site.

My upload speed is normally 656 to 658 kbs and my download speed is 5.13 to 5.15 mbs. It gives me a read out that my connection is performing at 99% efficiency and that it will handle VOP and such. It will give you several things to look at and compare with.
