Soldier loses his home
Just when I thought I have heard it all, another situation that just makes me shake my head. I understand about Depression so know why the Wife didn't open the mail. Too bad someone else in the family or friends were not able to assist her. For whatever reason the mail wasn't opened & the house is lost. I hope the situation can be remedied but have my doubts. I feel bad for the Soldier & his Wife.

Mick, That really is to bad. I hate to hear about things like this, but I have bad days of depression also and understand not wanting to even look at anything. I don't even go to the post office to get my mail on bad days. I hope they can work out something so they don't lose everything. Ron |
It sounds like the HOA management company overstepped its bounds by not knowing the owner was deployed. I hope they get spanked with a heavy loss. HOAs have evolved to mob mentality. I will never ever live in a HOA controlled community again. We are hoping our HOA will "sunset". We can't even get people to serve or attend meetings. In the early days it was more of a social thing then the a-holes started coming in and tried to make everyone else's home theirs, and they got outnumbered and left. Now noone cares.

House lost
This is what is wrong with this country...HOA's should not even be allowed to exist...and the buyer steeplechase should have given the house back and helped a service man and his wife...maybe obama will bail them out........

I've heard of HOAs before, but this is nuts!
The house was free and clear and some A$$hole in some HOA foreclosed because of dues in arrears...that is just sickening. |
The fact that it was a soldier is practically irrelevant. HOAs should not have this power. Regardless of who the owner is.
