I'll admit that I do not attend Nascar races and never will. I am a road racing fan. However, the best race that I watched lately is the Nationwide race at Road America a few weeks ago. Carl Edwards won. He dominated the race to give Ford its first victory this year (and maybe the only victory based on how Ford has been doing this year in Nascar).

Jamie Allison sure is having having poor year as Director of Ford racing. Maybe Ford fans are not going to events because Ford can't get out of their own way on the race track?
I prefer road racing too, but the recession isn't the only thing that has NASCAR dropping in the ratings. To many NASCAR shows all talking about the same thing and to many different people trying to impress the newer fans with their knowledge. I know of three people here that used to go to the Las Vegas races and the ones in Fontana and they quit going about four years ago because they didn't like the racing. The economy hit them too, but they have millions and can afford to go if they want. I think NASCAR has hit its peak and is now going to settle back down to a lower rating and stay there. If they would run more road races it might help, but I hope they will cancel some of the NASCAR talk shows and put other racing back on Speed.
