I have to admit....made me nervous sitting at ground level in my office. Hes not clipped in while hes climbing....crazy sob.

DrivinWest 12-02-2010 07:41 AM

I can't believe they do that without tethers and with those B.S. gloves!

Incase you are wondering.....
It would take you aprox 18 seconds to free fall to the ground from that height.
Plenty of time to regret not using your safety harness and wonder what the impact would feel like.

surprisingly, people have survived free falls from heights greater than this.
Air hostess Vesna Vulovic fell 33,330 ft on January 26, 1972. The DC-9 airliner she was on exploded!
She broke her back, fractured her skull and was in a coma for 27 days but survived.

My heart would sieze up long before I hit the ground !!!

I have no great fear of heights but as I watched the video (during which the lower parts of my body were trying to shrink themselves ten fold) I couldn't stop thinking - "Can you imagine actually assembling that thing?". Hats off to the workers that did.

I imagine a parachute would work from that height? I could not do that, I don't even like to fly.

But it gets better as he gets toward the top where he has to transition from the triangular girders to a red pole and he has to hoist himself up by holding onto the pole mounting brackets :3DSMILE:
