Automotive tourism in the UK...suggestions please
I'm travelling to the UK for business for a few weeks in May and I was wondering if there are any sites, museums, etc. dedicated to AC cars and/or other British cars from the 60's?
I've been to the Brooklands Museum a few years back, but that was mainly motorcycles and pre-war cars. I'm not looking for the usual tourists destinations (Windsor Castle, Tower of London, etc.) as I've visited most of them already. Thanks, Bill |
In the South in New Forest across from Portsmouth...Beaulieu National Motor Museum. At least one Cobra (the one with the stripe in light blue that wraps around the snout...supposedly the one that hauled ass down the motorway and caused speed limits to be imposed) and a whole bunch of other great historical racers (Campbell's Bluebird, etc.).
Make a day by bumping your head below deck on the Victory (worth another visit if you've been there already), drive around the bay and hit Beaulieu and you're still back in London for dinner. |
Excellent! Thanks Jamo. I'll try and take some pictures.
I have not toured the Victory yet....I'll check that out too. -Bill |
You're welcome...enjoy. :)
