How did you choose your valve covers

I've seen so many different valve covers on cobras, some say ford or cobra or shelby or le mans, some are polished , some are black crinkle, and i see alot of home fabricated ones, how did you choose your look and why.

When I bought the car it had the covers below.

When I seen the Blue Thunder covers, I thought they looked more race car like, so I went with them.

Went with the ones I liked.

Same as above. I tried several different types and since my Cobra was not even close to original looking I went with the ones that I thought looked best on the engine and I like the best.

When Ford intoduced the 5.0L GT-40 SVO long block for purchase, in the 90's, they came with the simple grey covers. It was a 302ci 285 HP little beast. Brand new cost $2595. Stick with the smooth look. Different

When I was redoing mine a few years ago I settled on the theme of an early competition type. I was unable to find any of this type that were commercially available, so I made several sets and sold them to fellow SB Cobra lovers on the website.

Wanted an authentic 1964 competition car look so used the FIA valve covers provided by ERA, coated ceramic silver:
