Share the best car prank you played on a friend

A friend of my just got his transmission replaced so one night we found his car parked on the street and dumped an entire quart of transmission fluid under his transmission and made sure we slapped some fluid all over the underside of the transmission. The fluid trail stretched from one side of the street to the next.

He brought the car back to the shop and they just about threw him out.

P.S. This happened many years ago before I had an appreciation for the environment. Now I would only spill about half a quart:LOL:

A friend of mine who worked in a service station would park his 1959 Ford convertible out front for all to see. One day I put several thumb tacks on the inside of his fan belt. Later that evening he never showed up at the normal meeting place so we went down to see what he was doing. He had the car in the garage and was starting to take the heads off because he had this really bad ticking sound. We told him to go get us something to eat and we would fix it. While he was gone we put the gaskets on and put everything back together. He couldn't believe we had fixed it so he started it up and spent 10 minutes listening for the ticking. None of us ever told him what we did.

Ron :)

Ron that made me laugh out loud! Somtimes these pranks have a way of going south!

:D

Jams,

That guy was entertainment for the whole group. When the Baby Moon hub cap was the craze and every car here had them, we took his off and slid them under the passengers seat. He went to the movie that night and when he came out he saw they were gone so he called the cops. By the time he got through screaming at them, they almost arrested him as every car going by had them and they all look alike. Then one of the coops walked over to the passenger side and there they laid in the floor. Then he really did have to get nice to keep from being arrested for verbal abuse of a police officer.

Ron

Best prank ever was pulled on me.
In college, I had a ratty '58 Corvette with a broken ignition switch; you just turned it to start...no key.

When I parked it, I would take out the rotor and pull the coil wire and tuck it in my pocket. :p

Parked the Vette at a girlfriend's house and went in a full-sized car with another couple to a party. Got back around 2 a.m. to find the Vette gone.

Sinking feeling in stomach pit.

Seems my date's brother, also a car guy, got home before us, saw the car, saw the switch left on "off"...and decided to move the car.

Wouldn't start. He had a Camaro. Vette wouldn't start and it took him about five minutes to figure it out. Pulled a spare rotor and coil wire from his parts bin, started the car and moved it around back of the house.

I didn't find it all that funny. Got the ignition switch changed that Monday. :o

my dad had a diesel ford escort in the 80's. He was always boasting to my brother and I about the great gas mileage he was getting.

We decided to "Ef" with him. One week we'd add 5 gallons of diesel and added to his tank...he went around telling us he was getting over 80mpg. a couple weeks later we'd siphon 5 gallons out and he'd freak out because he was only getting 20mpg.

We did this to him for months, until mom told him what we were up to... he was less than amused.

Reading about the baby moon hubcaps brought back a memory I had completely erased, but it was funny. Got in a bit of a beef with a guy and got back at him by putting a couple of carp I had caught in his baby moons. He couldn't figure out where the stink was coming from for days. He always thought it was me, but I managed to keep a straight face whenever I saw him.

Now that must have done some doing to keep a straight face. Did he ever get all of the smell gone?

Who among us, as teenagers standing in our garage, has not at least once handed an unsuspecting buddy a fully charged capacitor, and asked, "Hey, what do you make of that wire hangin' off of it??"

ZA-POW!

Rich_ACC 05-15-2011 03:06 PM

Me - Me..... laid a full charged condenser on a sleeping guys arm in auto class. Called his name. ZAP. He had a welt the size of a golf ball everyone was on the floor.

Jell bean under the dist cap coil wire. Same guy, he had to call us to start the car.

Rich_ACC 05-15-2011 03:11 PM

onward, Tune up center had a coil tester in it. One of the guys hooks the clips to a freshmans ears. The poor guy came to on the floor. ya he did graduate.

I guess is was in the early 80's, a buddy got mad at a co-worker and I saw him under the hood of the guys late 70's chevy pickup in the parking lot...Asked him what he was doing, he was pouring a quart of trans. fluid down the carb!!!!!!!!!!!!
the truck started right up,ran fine, but smoked like crazy for 50 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two more that I quit.

Filled a box of cream donuts with grease and left them in the Auto Shop teachers office.

Hooked the coil tester to the wire cake in the mens urinal. Note; later he did have 3 kids.

There was one guy we always played pranks on.

1. On one of those cold winter nights we filled 5 gal. buckets of water and coated his car with ice on contact.

2. One night we dumped 10 pounds of white flower on a guys car. We figured it was a harmless prank and it would just blow off. We should have checked the forecast because it rained just enough that night to make dough all over his car.

3. The sight of Head cheese (That jelly cold cut with unknown meat inside) makes him vomit. On the hottest day of the summer we slim-jim'd (sp) his car and place a 1/4 pound of head cheese all around his car including inside his vents.

4. We would routinely steal his hubcaps and paint his rims all kinds of colors and spiral designs. About a week later we would give him his hubcaps back.

5. We needed someone to take us to the local fair but the only guy with a car wouldn't drive so we snuck in and pulled a coil or distributer wire with the hopes that when he tried to start his disabled car, we could be the hero and then he would take us to the fair. Turns out something must of shorted out and we couldn't get the car started. We never told him!

Love this one. Might be too expensive with today's prices:LOL:

Took the large rolls of plastic wrap used to wrap pallets and wrapped my Uncles car. Just kept rolling it over and under the car until it was wrapped tight.... and more than just one or two layers....

I wonder how shrink-wrap would work?????

Haven't been around for a while ... at the time I'm Cobraless but always looking for another one....
Actually, I'd like to find out who bought my Unique 289 Denim Blue / silver stripe member of the family Cobra....

I traded the car so I don't know who bought it ... I was cleaning out the garage this spring and found several things that should have gone with the car... If I can find out who has the car I will give the parts and pieces to them.
Hopefully the car in still in Northern Ohio area and easy to track down..
I should still have some pics in the photo album on this site...
a5shafr@yahoo.com is my email ... appreciate any help

Not as good as some of these, but in my early Navy days, a guy had bought a Geo Metro (all he could afford). Me and 3 others picked up the front of the car and walked it to a different parking lot. Same car had a sun roof that he left open so we filled the car with Styrofoam peanuts. I have had the leaking oil trick played on me, but I did an inspection before panicking so it backfired slightly on them.
