I read that article.

Who would pay $200K-$300K for a Porsche with a Cosworth engine? This sounds like a great idea:

The Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association, a trade group for the automotive performance-parts and customizing industry, is pushing Congress to pass a proposal backed by Rep. John Campbell (R., Calif.) that would exempt companies that build fewer than 1,000 cars a year from some of the most costly federal safety and environmental rules. The rationale: Fostering small car makers will create jobs.

" Frighteningly expensive, too -- Singer versions are $190,000 to $360,000. "

" Singer Vehicle Design was founded by former rock musician Rob Dickinson, who was schooled in auto design and grew up with a love of Porsches. The Singer 911 he's leaning against pays visual homage to hot-blooded Porsche sports cars of their heyday without strictly being one. It’s basically a dreamy version of the original. "

Hey Don,
I had no idea that Rob Dickson was a rock guy. Which band?

I am currently between owning a Club Cobra, but I always come here to search for a new one. ;)

Nonetheless, I do now own a couple of old longhood Porsche cars. I am old-school. These six-figure prices scare me. This one has no Cosworth/Lotus engine. It has a 911S engine. It's low-mid 5-figures.

Go figure. I have the four-CD "The Brit Box". It's a 77-song compilation of various British bands. Catherine Wheel has a song on it that I like.
