STAR TRON vs Sta-Bil

A friend was given a bottle of " STAR TRON Enzyme Fuel Treatment " by a vendor as an alternative to Sta-Bil. Over the past years+, I have only looked for and purchased Sta-Bil, easily recognized on the store shelf with their branded packaging. Had no reason to seek out an alternative.

STAR TRON's web site mentions in addition to treating for ethanol problems/fuel stabilizing: Dramatically Increases Fuel Economy, Eliminates Black Soot and Exhaust Stains and Removes Carbon ......form your own opinion on these statements as defined on the web site.

Has anyone had experience with STAR TRON ?

I use StaBil (Marine Grade) made especially for Ethanol (dark color) and more expensive but I think worth it since I have had zero problems in all kinds of motors and equipment.

StarTron

I have been using Stabil for many years but only for storage. StarTron was introduced to me last year by a fellow enthusiast and I am very pleased with it. After trying it last fall and seeing the results this past spring, I even use Startron now even on my daily drivers...all year. It made a huge difference in smoothness, power, and overall performance on the V8s: the big block 460 on the Cobra and the small block 302 on the GT40. In fact, I gotta go get some more now.:p
I have (5) 8-qt. bottles of Stabil. I'll probably use them for the lawn mowers, snow blower, and weed whacker motors...:o

I have been happy with Stabil. Seems to do what it say's it will..use it on everything from my boat to my weed-eaters..

Any concerns using Starton on EFI engines?
I know some fuel additives could ruin 02 sensors.

I have only used Sta Bil as an additive when I am ready to store my lawn and garden equipment and it has worked great for me. I do put some in the tank of the 69 when it is going to be setting all winter. Since I started using it a few years ago in my lawn & Garden equipment, I have not had to have any work done on any of them and they will start right up after setting all winter. I don't even know where to get Star Tron around here but I think I will just stay with Sta Bil as I know it works for what I use it for.
