Having always been interested in Space I enjoyed this video of the booster rockets on the space shuttle. Just watch as it breaks the sound barrier and listen to all of the noise cause by the metal expanding and retracting.

Very cool. By the end of the burn, velocity was increasing by about 25mph/second (0-100mph in 4 seconds). Only 1.1G (plus the Earth's 1.0G though). Checking Wikipedia, the Shuttle's maximum is only 3Gs. Wimps.

I don't know Ron. The 0 to 60 time was not that impressive. ;)

John,
If you stood your Corvette on its rear end and accelerated do you think you could beat that time? :p
