Anyone know vintage Jags?
Stumbled across the following "fresh out of the barn" series "1" (61-64). Have no clue what they are worth (in this condition). Anyone have any experience with these? A little guidance would be appreciated as I decide whether to dive into to unknown waters (from a resale standpoint as it sits).

...that baby is rough...
have you looked under it yet.......or is under it not even there. nice cars when done, but....wow, that will take the world to bring back |
With all due respect my mentor, that baby looks like it washed up on the beach:LOL:

I restored a solid running 69 coupe....cost me 35k doing 50% of work myself....14 yrs ago. Very expensive proposition.

Yikes! Was that in the barn or under it?

Is that rust in the picture or dirt?

Flat floor or drop floor?
Back in 1989 when the "old car" market was riding a rocket, I hauled a 62 roadster to Columbus, Ohio that makes that car look like a cherry! The guy who bought the roadster paid $17,000 for it and likely spent upwards of 70K at the time to make a car out of it. When I rolled it out of my trailer I swept up ten pounds of the finest British steel and gave it to the guy! If you remember that period, the mantra was "you can't pay too much, you just pay too early..." I saw 65-66 GT350 rustbuckets go for 50K. Of course when the market "corrected" itself many "Collectors" (read "investor") lost their hats and fannies which in retrospect was not a bad thing. It got the "I read these cars are a good investment in the Wall Street Journal" guys out of the market and put it back into the hands of enthusiasts once more. Like a Mustang, not much you can't buy for an E type. |
How much does it weigh? (less the rust)
