Shopping for tires for my F250. Advice needed
Hi All,
We own a '03 F250 ( 5.8l ) that is in desperate need of new tires. The truck is used for general purpose work on our farm and also some towing. We don't drive in the fields when it is muddy so I don't think I need off road type tires, but something with more traction than perhaps a regular street tire. I'm just wonder what to buy and also wondering if buying online is a good option. Years ago I bought the tires for my Cobra from Tire Rack. thanks for the input. |
just put tires on my Ford truck, Firestone Destination LE. nice tread quiet on the road too.....
probably would be better to go to a firestone store, get the front end aligned when you do it so they don't wear weird. and they can check the BJ's too. |
Michelin LTX MS 2. I get 70K miles with them on my Tundra. Excellent dry and wet weather. Not a good mud tire. I get them from Tire Rack.

I am a big fan of the BF Goodrich All Terrain. They can handle the load, are quiet, they look good, and as long as you rotate them you can easily get 60-70k out of them. You can find them anywhere on line.

Check both the Michelin and the BF Goodrich. Depending on the size you need for your truck, you may have to choose between them. Not to worry; BFG is owned by Michelin and many times both tires are made in same factory. I run BFGs on my Nissan Titan 4WD and Michelins on my Honda Pilot.
Tire Rack is great, but I like the idea of supporting local retailers when I can, so I agree with bobcowan above. |
Believe it or not I spent more on tires for my Dodge 1500 than I did for the Ford GT. Truck tires are pricey!!! Especially all season light truck tires that work in snow and ice with a load rating.
