Apple OS X Dashboard
OS X 10.9.4
Attempting to install Adobe Flash Player, get the message: " Close the following programs to continue: DashboardClient. Could not find the command to close, the " Client " portion associated with Dashboard, had not previously seen. Went to Dashboard in Applications, no command to close, nor in Finder. Any suggestions ? ......thanks |

Good luck Dashboard is essentially a pared-down web browser. Adobe Flash installers usually look for open web browsers before installing and recommend they be shut down prior to install. So, try going into Dashboard and then move your mouse over any open widgets and then hold the option (or alt) key down and a small (x) should appear on the top left hand corner of the widget. Thanks, also found the Thread and from a combination of approaches was able to download Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR, after quitting Dashboard in it's entirety. Used the Safe Mode approach on restart and proceeded. Must be some Apple background with Adobe/Flash as to why quitting DashBoard is so challenging, and the Quit step is not provided by Apple. https://discussions.apple.com/thread...rt=30&tstart=0 |
