Top Gear - Minus Jeremy Clarkson
How bad will the show be without Clarkson? It will be interesting to see if they give him the boot considering how much money he brings in.
[edit]I wonder how long the show will be cancelled and they sort this out? |
The last 3 shows of the season are cancelled. But there is still no word if Clarkson will be fired or remain with the show. A decision is expected in a week or so. He has a lot of friends in high places.

He's replaceable. I doubt if they will cancel the show in any case, it will make money with or without him. The format is the star, not him.
How long would you be at your job if you punched your boss ? That's exactly what he did when he punched the producer. Since it's the end of the season BBC and the producers have plenty of time to make a change if they decide to. I imagine they will let him twist in the wind for quite a while before they accounce if they are going to bring him back. He is like many entertainment personalities, very charming on camera, and a big blow hard and demanding the rest of the time. Z. |
It's official. Clarkson has been fired from Top Gear. The BBC says they are contemplating reformatting the show with the other two.

Comments from James May about the sacking.

There is no one big enough to fill Clarksons shoe's, he had all the idea's and front to pull those rediculous epic journeys off, James May and Shorty are just ballast to fill gaps in the show and for Clarkson to play off.
It's an own goal by the BBC to let him go, ITV will give him whatever he want's, it will be the same show, different name and channel that's all. |
This was the waiters view of the event

The producers, one of whom Clarkson punched for the lame reason that the "food wasn't hot...." (Clarksons words), have the ideas for each episodes storyline, not the on screen talent. I applaud the BBC President for sacking him, in the executives own words, "...we can't have one code of conduct for the stars and another standard for everyone else......" Z |
