Shelby Shares CSBI
Good morning!
I tried the other day to buy Shelby shares for the fun of it. Or, because I can't afford a Shelby car. Maybe an air cleaner. But it wasn't possible from outside the USA (I tried from Germany). How can I get a few? At usd$ 0.11 I would buy 1.000 - lol :-) |
Why? At the price quoted all you get is CSBI in your brokerage account. Certificates are very costly (more than the stock price, if you can get them at all any more). They are at best a novelty stock. I bought a bunch at a buck and in today's discussion with our investment manager my conclusion is it would cost me more in transaction fees to sell them than to keep them.
There used to be a place called "buy a share" or something like that that would send you a certificate of 10 shares (or some minimal amount), but it was around a hundred bucks plus stock price (not just Shelby, lots of other vanity stocks like Coca Cola) |
