Unfortunately what the fire and smoke didn't destroy the water used to try to extinguish it surely did. Countless irreplaceable sculptures, paintings and tapestries have more than likely been lost.
The U.S. was the largest donor of monies for the restoration of Notre Dame prior to the fire, we will have to see if people still think Notre Dame is important enough to save.

TV news said most of the art and the organ were saved. Also, the three wealthiest families in France have pledged 100s of millions of dollars for the rebuilding. Glad we got to visit a few years ago.
