The snow is really heavy. Tuesday its going to be 50°F and raining, so shoveling this stuff will be avoided.

Someone wake me when its springtime.

		Warren,
What ever happened to your snow blower? All you have ever said is it wouldn't start back when you had the first small snow. And your Tuesday forecast was wrong. They meant 5 degrees, not 50 and yo will have ice on top of the snow.

Snow blower is down in the cellar. Been cleaning and refinishing everything. Waiting for some parts so I can rebuild the carb. We have had three snow storms, each with 8 to 12 inches of snow. But within a day or two its warmed up and rained. Mother Nature snow removal.

So I've just taken a shovel to the front walk (about 15 feet long to street), and let nature take care of the 90 foot driveway.

Boy, was breakfast goooooooooood. A chili omelet, English muffin with red raspberry preserves, half a baked potato sliced and browned along with a chicken sausage. Apple juice and some coffee with a white grapefruit. I'm good to go until supper.

The snow has stopped. Looks like 6 to 8 inches.

My breakfast was great too. Two Granola bars and then the morning 1 1/2 mile circuit with the dogs. Run most of the first 3/4ths mile around with Frenchy and then Walk most of the next circuit with Sweetheart as she doesn't care much for running. Thank God. It was 32 here when I got up but is warming up and is clear and supposed to hit 70 today and the next two days. More like Spring should be than Winter.
Tomorrow afternoon they are sending a tech out to check out my DSL line. I know him well and talked to him the other day about it. I run a speed test about every week or so and for the past 6 months it has just slowly been losing speed. He ran a capacity test and told me the line shows it is getting worse, but we have to determine if it is in my house wiring or their line to the ESS machine. Boy, I hope it is in theirs as I don't think I have a spare pair of wires left in the jack. I knew when I built the house I should have ran two lines in and just had one 3 pair as an extra.

The rains arrived here yesterday and are still here this morning. At least
I don't have to worry about shoveling it. No Cobra ride today. The whales
are finally back - late this year. Always a beautiful sight when climbing to
altitude here, since the drop zone is about 50 yards from the shoreline.

Well it was 32 here yesterday morning at this time and 50 this morning. Supposed to be around the low 70s this afternoon. I am starting to catch a cold or the flu from all of these temperature changes. The next two days don't look to good for me.

No rides this week. Guess I'll go get some breakfast.

Well it is warming up here and it is still to dark for me to even see my front yard. So they may be right about us having another 70 degree day. I will take the dogs for their runs in about 30 minutes and then wait until the sun gets all the way up to do a couple of things that I need to do outside. I just hope the wind doesn't start blowing like it did for a while yesterday afternoon. These days are like Spring. I guess Tru will spend the day plowing snow.

Well I am back from the runs and it is so warm I had to take my jacket off and I never even had the sweat shirt on under it that I normally wear early in the morning. The sun is up and it is getting warm fast. I believe this is going to be a really nice day.
I really feel for the people up around Seattle. First the snow and now all of the flooding. Glad I don't have to worry about that here.

		Ron,
Seattle needs to find a way to divert the water to Lake Shasta.

Making the final preparations for attending my Step Sons Boot Camp graduation this weekend. Really proud of him. He did not want to go to school after high school, and has spent the last couple of years working unloading trucks at Walmart, Target, K-Mart, etc... Nothing wrong with it, but he is a real smart kid and can go far if he applies himself. Really surprised me last spring when he said he was talking to recruiters from the Navy and from the Air Force. He decided on the Air Force and went through with it. They are really different then my Boot Camp graduation. We did everything in 1 day, started early and finished at almost dinner time. His is spread out over 2 days. Starts Thursday (we will miss these ceremonies) and ends on Friday. Thursday we can only watch, not get to see him at all. Friday after the parade and final ceremony, we will get to go back to the barracks and see him there. He will get a day pass on Saturday and we can go out in town. Sunday he is limited to Base only privileges. We got liberty on Friday and had to be back by Sat 0700, Then by 0730 we were back out on liberty and had to be back at 0700 Sunday. Back on liberty at 0730 and had to be back at 0000. Much different.

		Joe,

We could use the water Seattle has running out into the ocean.

Congratulations on your son's graduation. Is he going to go to the academy?

No, he is going in enlisted. He is going to school for some computer training, but I am not for sure what. He wasn't very clear on it. He still does not want to go to college, so he did not pursue it. He is considering doing an enlisted-officer program though in a couple of years if he decides to stay in.

Almost midnight and the temp outside is 8°F. Tomorrow morning is weekly rubbish pick up (about 6:30 AM). Too cold to put it outside. Guess I'll just double up for next week.

Joe - congrats on your son making what looks like a wise decision. With you and your wife limping along, can you use your son as a crutch?

Good Night.

It is 1 AM here right now and the temperature is in the upper 40s but the wind is blowing. It got up to 75 yesterday and is supposed to be about the same today. I just hope the wind quits when it gets daylight.

		Warren,
She isn't limping yet. Still rolling in the wheelchair. When we went to the doctor last one of her incisions was still bleeding a little, so even though they removed the cast, and put her in a walking boot, she still cannot walk on it.

None of you have anything to complain about in regards to the weather... this morning I woke up to a -16 degree weather...and it warmed up to balmy -6.. then if you factor in the windchill. If I could find a job making what I currently bring in..where it's warm.. I'd be there... Oh.. there is a plus.. on cold days like this -- outdoor hockey practices are cancelled!!

I thought the wind chill was only down to -35 today.

I wasn't factoring in windchill...just straight temperatures.. Just glad I don't live up in Frostbite Falls where the windchills were in the range of -50 something below..
I do often wonder if I put the boy's equipment outside..if the bitter cold weather would make the hockey equipment smell better...
