I worked for a guy back in the 70's who always took a 2 week vacation in the summer. Took a taxi to the airport and walked up to the departure window of a major air carrier. Asked for return flight in 2 weeks. Destination - just give me the next flight to depart.

One year it would be Paris ,,, next year it would be Newark.

OMG, it is like 44 degrees outside!

Dang, the snow is up to my knee, but melting.

I heard there was mud slides in CA.

The mud slides must have been in southern Calif. It is clear and sunny here today but we did have a little rain yesterday morning. Enough to water the weeds but not enough to help any. Just saw another big cloud heading East from Mt. Shasta. Looked kind of like it had Warren's name on it.

2.5 inches of rain in two days, I guess we are going to get are whole Winter in one week!

Not bad Mike. That is more than we have had all Winter in spite of the weather people trying to downplay our lack of rainfall. At least it may reduce the fire hazards next Summer.

Well, with all the snow we have had, everything is a mess.

To dump ash, I walked in snow up to my knees. If I would have waited for tomorrow, I might have been able to stroll out in shorts.

Got varmints in the wood barn.

Warren, by early in the week, you will be out in 50 degree weather...again.

Maybe but the streets will probably be too wet. Its 42F here at 11:30PM. Has not been this warm in about a month. Maybe Algore is here for a visit and is letting out copious amounts of heat from his mouth when he speaks.

Tru - Congrats on post 8K

Tru & Warren,

Don't worry, this is just a pause until the next real cold weather and snow gets there. Even when it was raining here a little the other day it was in the 50s. Now that is cold.

GMW
Up to 43 but overcast and the streets are all wet. No ride today.

Guess it will be a domestic day ... currently washing and drying clothes. Need to pay some bills, too.

Does anyone want to come over and dust? Maybe I'll go buy a leaf blower and use some 100 MPH tape on the small stuff.

Warren,

Just to make your day more exciting, I would be happy to send you some of my bills to pay also. As for the dusting, the leaf blower idea don't sound to bad. By the time I get one room finished and start another, the first one is already showing a thin layer of new dust. What I need is some kind of spray can of something that is dust repellent and will keep it outside where it belongs.

Being from W. Texas I kind of like dust.

It's easy to redecorate by just moving some dust around.

Being from west Texas where they call tall weeds trees and small dips in the ground mountains, you have to like dust as there isn't any real ground. And the pebbles that you call rocks wouldn't even be noticed around here.

Out on the High Plains,if you want some rocks to decorate your cement front yard, you import them from The Big Bend at great expense.
No money,no rocks.

Bring your truck out here and just back it up to a canyon wall. You can get all of the rocks of any size that you want free. Every small quake, Cal Trans has to go over the highway between Redding and the coast and clear the rocks off the road. On one of your motorcycle trips you need to come out here and go to Sequoia and Kings Canyon Parks and see some real trees. Then you can come on up North and see real canyons that do not rival the Grand Canyon as I have never seen any that are like it. If you want to feel at home for a while, go to Southern Calif., and out where the desert is flat. China Lake is a good place as that is where they used to do the racing and speed runs before the Salt Flats.

There are just about as many trees out there as there are rocks.
When I was out visiting Josh, his girl friend was mostly with him.We were standing around on campus. I looked at Kellie and said,"Wow,there is a pretty girl behind every tree!" She started beaming big time and then it dawned on here there weren't any trees to speak of. LFAO.
The High Plains are as flat as a table top. Before farmers showed up and it was in it's natural state,it was Heaven for buffalos and other such creatures.Nothing but high grass.

He is loving it.It being his classes,Professors, the independence.
He is got his drum set out there and is the drummer for the Band at a Church he attends.

He kept saying, while in High School, that he felt that it was really holding him back.I have to agree now,he has just taken off.

Set up at his Church at Tech.

Good to hear from Ms K.

Ron - dust is 90% dead skin cells, so stay out of the house. Actually, dust is a great preservative for fine furniture. I dust about every 6 months whether it needs it or not. My furniture is not that fine.
