Value of Shelby autographed "The Cobra Story"
 
I have a autographed copy of the book "The Cobra Story" which my father had autographed by Carroll Shelby at a car show in 1965. Does anybody have an idea of what the possible value of the book could be or where I might be able to find out the value. I'm not trying to sell it as it has sentimental value to me due to my father passing away just a few years ago. He owned 2 original A/C Cobra 427's and a Viper GTS Coupe which was one of the first ones to get the "Venom" package upgrade.

I know the book may not be worth too much now, but as with any autograph, the value will sky rocket upon the death of the person.

Try a search for rare or collectible book dealers and you should be able to find one that will give you a pretty good idea of what the book is worth. I don't know how many sold and how many he may have autographed, but your book is probably worth more than you think even now. Also some of the people with the original cobras on the club may have a good idea about what it is worth.

I'm a Saleen owner and enthuisist in a big way. I value Uncle Carroll as Steve Saleen is a good friend of his and Carroll is in a way very much a mentor to Steve. Personally, I don't think Saleen's would exist if it wasn't for Uncle Carroll

btw, the book IS NOT for sale nor will it ever be. My curiousity was just sparked

Signed in 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005 but not in 1965 ;)
