Can cowpies be trusted?
State officials crack down on offbeat but lucrative cow bingo fundraisers, saying the game can be rigged BY DAVE ORRICK Pioneer Press Article Last Updated: 08/01/2007 12:51:18 PM CDT There's a bit of a stink brewing in southern Minnesota over betting on where a cow plops. Officials in Wells, Minn., are settling for a button raffle as their marquee event later this month after state regulators told them they couldn't proceed with what would have been the second annual "Cow Plop Bingo" during the community's Kernel Days festival. In Kiester, along the Iowa border, bingo boosters are fuming over a state crackdown in June on their version of cow bingo, which had been the biggest fundraiser for a local civic group for decades. The same may be the case for Western Days in Chatfield, south of Rochester, where gambling investigators are looking into a "Cow Chip Bingo" game slated for this month, according to promotional materials. Organizers couldn't be reached for comment. Snip....... http://www.twincities.com/ci_6511392?nclick_check=1 ______ Here's how it's played somewhere in America! HOST A LEGAL COWPLOP BINGO GAME 1. Mark bingo grid on pasture 2. Feed cow lots of grass and water 3. Assign squares to players. But don't charge, so it's not gambling 4. Let cow loose onto game board 5. No cheating, don't coax the cow 6. Let nature take its course Basically, the game has players watching cows poop, cheering if it's in their square! I suppose when the cow pies dry they also have cow pie throwing contests, but hopefully not before they completely dry! |
Well, we seem to find sport in everything.

... and I always thought that rednecks lived south of the Mason Dixon line.
Tru, if you cut the lawn really short, do you think you might find a couple of abandoned cars? |
