Steve,
I gotta agree with you. There are only a small number of muslims that are bad guys. Let's see now. World population of muslims: 1 Billion (1.2 via CAIR) and only, say, 2% want to kill us and our families. OK I'm with that. That's a nice handfull of mooslims. At a level of 1.2 billion, [in1999] Muslims represent between 19.2% and 22% of the world's population. It has become the second largest religion in the world. Christianity has slightly less than 30%. Islam is growing about 2.9% per year which is faster than the total world population which increases at about 2.3% annually. It is thus attracting a progressively larger percentage of the world's population. The number of Muslims in North America is in dispute: estimates range from under 3 million to over 6 million. The main cause of the disagreement appears to be over how many Muslim immigrants have converted to Christianity since they arrived in the US. Statistics Canada reports that 253,260 Canadians identified themselves as Muslims (0.9% of the total population) during the 1991 census. Some estimated that there were as many as 500,000 Muslims in Canada. Today (.2001) there are an estimated 650,000 Muslims in Canada. The Christians and Mongols did the same thing along time ago but sometime in the 18th century we went through what is known as Enlightenment. If we did not go through this period we would still be throwing turnips at witches. Unfortunately, Islam has not gone through this and are still in the 12th century. And by the way, most muslims are NOT just like us. Roscoe |

"We have squandered the goodwill of the world because of people like you, and that makes our job of finding the real bad guys harder."
Huh? Goodwill of the world? What goodwill? I thought everyone (always) hated us. "People like you took a bad-but-workable situation (Hussein and WMD) and turned it into a nightmare with no good solution." Hussein and WMD was never a good combination, ask the Kurds and then imagine what it would have been like had they completed their nuclear program. |
Everyone...take it down a notch. Folks are trying to sleep.

Steve,
So you agree with Scowcroft huh? Scowcroft Is Critical of Bush Ex-National Security Adviser Calls Iraq a 'Failing Venture' By Glenn Kessler Washington Post Staff Writer Saturday, October 16, 2004; Page A02 ................. Scowcroft declined a request for an interview yesterday. When asked if he had been quoted correctly, his office responded with a statement: "He has been and is a supporter of President Bush and thinks he is the best qualified to lead our country." Now even I don't believe that he is the "best" but he's a hell of lot better than what you would be. We'd be wearing blue helmets and speaking french by the end of the year, eh komrade? I thought I was associated with sheep not chickens??? |
Bernie,
So you are still afraid to tell me why Scowcroft was wrong. Yep, chickens. Try again: http://www.opinionjournal.com/editor...l?id=110002133 It says nothing about supporting or not supporting Bush. And incidentally, I supported Bush regarding Afghanistan. I actually thought he was doing a reasonably good job regarding foreign affairs until he actually invaded Iraq. Steve |
Oh, and you would be very surprised at what my government would look like.
|
There would be one? :p
|
Probably not...I prefer the truth over what people want to hear. It's not a very electable trait.

Steve,
You don't answer questions so you do not get the courtesy of me answering yours. And I understand your vast knowledge of chicken****ism. I imagine you wrote the book and know every subtle nuance. Such as switching to a 5 year old article from Scowcroft to divert attention from what he said just this week. And yes it's a scary thought that you would wield power in the government just as it is a scary thought that you live here. |
I can see how this thread could heat up quickly.

I am happy to answer any question you ask to the best of my ability. However, you have to be willing to answer mine as well, and you always have some weaseley way of getting out of it. I am perfectly open to changing my mind about something given enough facts. However, instead of giving me new facts by answering my questions you only offer up hyperbole or insults. Simple question: have you read the entire ISG report? Oh, what did Scowcroft say this week? And don't forget that I posted the exact same article link over on the other thread last week, and you weaseled out there as well. That is why I reposted it here. Maybe you should try again. I just don't think you have the guts or brains to do it. Chickensh!t and weasels Bernie. |
