Great post!!

Yes, though some of those are a bit older than I, it was a trip down memory lane.

Great post, Warren! This is what I drove in the 60's. They didn't show any of those in the skit, but I enjoyed it anyway!:D

Well I wasn't here in the 50's and in the 60's I was driving diapers. Well at least for a couple years anyway.

I was hatched in 61.

Ron61 08-30-2007 08:23 AM

Hey Buzz,

What kind of motor did you have in that beast?

Ron :D

Buzz 08-30-2007 12:39 PM

It was a noisy, temperamental lil' two-piston thing that ran on sugar pops and rice krispies.

Ron61 08-30-2007 12:50 PM

:)

That sounds like the kind of motor that a friend of mine's wife's Father had in his little race car, but his had a completely different body style. And it was heavy too as it was made of steel. :p

Buzz, I didn't get that peddle car, I got the red fire engine.

It was so cool when the other kids got out their peddle cars and we rode down the street. Dang, that was like 47 years ago.

:D

Ron
I drove around in the 60's in my 57 Chevy Convertible. Boy, that was a nice car. Yellow with black top and gold trim.

Sold it in the late 60's for $350.00

Ah the memories - my first car was a run out '57 Ford that I got for $100.
I got to fix or replace just about everything on it, including the engine. I
got a complete '59 352 T-Bird special engine from a junk yard for $150 and
managed to get it in without too many problems. Made for a great "sleeper"
car.

:)

Warren,

My first car of the 50s and 60s era was a 1952 Ford with a flat head and three on the tree. Then when I got out of the service I bought my first really good car, a 1958 Fairlane 500 with the 332 Police Interceptor engine and an automatic. I wish I had that car back now as you can't find one and the only one I have seen that was like mine was listed for $32K. I think I gave around $600 dollars for it. That 332 Police Engine was a hit winding motor and once you got above 30 MPH it would go like crazy. I think when I got rid of it I got about the same as I gave for it.
Now my first car at all was somewhat a chopped version of Fred Flintstones Roadster. No brakes, round rock wheels, and 4 foot power as I always had someone ride with me to help move the car.

Ron
