Drug testing --Interesting Spin
Read this on a NJ Forum- Thought it was an interesting point of view.
----- Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sitting on their butt, doing drugs, while I work... Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check??? Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though.... something has to change in this country and soon!!! |
...
Sounds like a dang good idea to me. :D They test us at work too, blood and breathalyzer. New railroad hires also get their hair roots tested. Results read back quite a few months from what I understand. I guess if I gave one of my employees a few million dollars in equipment to run, I might do likewise. I would probably worry more how much sleep they got though. ... |
Thats an EXCELLENT idea! Welfare and drug tests, right on the money!
|
WOW...different strokes...I've been in the software business for 37 years. We NEVER introduced drug testing in ANY of my companies as we'd loose 75% of the development team!
Glyn PS I DO agree with Jams though! |
Eh eh, I worked for 'corporate' for many many years. On occasion some contracts would require a drug test for the lead guy. In such cases they would usually send me, as it was the 'best chance' for anybody in the office to actually pass it...

Yes an interesting idea.
Would love to hear that debated in Government chambers though..:3DSMILE: |
:)
I would like to see all of our politicians have to take drug tests. How can we have and fair conclusion to this with many of the Congress and other high ranking people of power and money putting themselves above the law and using drugs at their parties which the tax payers foot the bill for. Ron  |
Great idea,
Someone should have thought of that forty years ago |
OH and to put another twist on this
I think you should also have to pass a urine test to be able to distribute the money. Government Politicians etc... |
I wouldn't bet any money that any law makers will introduce any bills to
implement this drug testing for the welfare folks or the politicians. |
