Dan Rather

I was watching Rather's interview, and I find his comment very interesting. That news is influenced by government, and big business. It is something we all know, but I find it refreshing that he is coming forward. I am wondering what other's thoughts are on this?

I think he's not quite right here. It's more like news and government are influenced by "big business". Over the years corporate power and the original corporate-limiting laws have changed to the point that corporations wield more power than almost any government. Possibly more powerful now than even the US government. Both major US political parties, though they have some detractors within, seem to generally follow the same tack. :(

Experts at ad tech and human persuasion, people can be influenced by modern world corporate media ability to vote for, and go along with, policies detrimental to their own welfare. As an example, look at pre-war Germany. Very intelligent population. But that didn't stop Adolph-the-silver-tongued-persuader. Hard to believe Germany went where it did... but it happened.

It makes me look like a "conspiracy theorist" to believe this. I prefer to think of myself as a coalition theorist. ;)
