What is keeping you from working on(or playing with) your car?

I've been slacking lately and haven't been doing much work on the car so decided to show you why. This is a landscape project three years long. The biggest obstacle is the fact that you can not bring in any equipment. the last one that tried took two large trucks and access from a neighbors property that no longer exists, to remove. All materials moved in or out have to done by hand down a steep grade. It is truly amassing what you can accomplish with a shovel and a wheelbarrow. This weekend it was eight cubic yards of crushed limestone, to finish off the edge of the wall work.

Thats looking like a great lttle retreat back there. looks like freshly laid sod too. Looking good. ..hey, where's the pool going to be?

fasterpatrick 09-23-2007 09:30 PM

No Joey, that lawn is eight years old I've got all the neighbors pissed at me I do very little and have the best yard, prep is everything. We've thought about one of those infinity pools but then we look at each other and say if we win the lottery.

What is this "Fasterpatricks Gardening Corner"?

I hear ya man, I been pretty busy myself and have been neglecting my ERA. Worked on one of my motorcycles today, something I've been putting off forever.

Your yard is looking great, by the way... :D

Patrick,

Great looking garden there. I can see the local Cobra members having a few beers around the fire pit there.

Fasterpatrick,

That is beautiful. Very very nice.

I can see where you time is being/been spent.

I do not dare let my wife see that.

:D :D

Silverback51 09-24-2007 07:23 AM

Very nice

I know first hand how heavy those blocks are

trularin 09-24-2007 09:23 AM

Looking at those pictures, I have to ask if you did your neighbor's yard also?

:D :D

fasterpatrick,
Great looking retreat - that's a lot of wheel barrow runs!
trularin - I don't dare let my wife see that either - she comes up with
plenty of honey-do's as it is. One thing about here in Hawaii, I get to use it
365/year so I have done some work in the yard, small though it be, but I
have noticed with the wimmins it's never finished!

What is keeping me from working on (or playing with) my car?

Absolutely nothing, except for rain or snow.

Patrick, that is one great looking yard,I can identify with moving 8 yrds of gravel by hand, but mine was in the driveway which is lots flatter, then wifey had a sidewalk for me to do in pavers(about 1500 so far) but on Sept 1, I started back on the workshop renovation that should be done by Oct 15, the cobra project is next. What's keeping me from working on the Cobra? How about 3 broken ribs from helping the other half putting up blinds on the sliding glass door. Went to step down off of a chair and fell into the countertop. I should have stayed in the garage where it is safe.

How about no car and probably won't get it back before I am long gone. I do miss the tinkering and especially the drives, but what can I do.

I had my left hip replaced 4 weeks ago today. Born with a hump on the top of my femur, so it was inevitable. After years of athletics, it worked through the cartilage at age 42. I should be off my cane in 2 weeks or so and will try to drive her then.

HI Cobra 09-25-2007 11:54 AM

Madmiles442,
Be careful getting in and out of the Cobra - when I went to a joint replacement pre-op class at the hospital they showed an xray of a woman
who leaned over to pick her keys up from the car floor and dislocated her
hip (after her replacement op). I got myself a new knee which has been
a blessing for me. I guess with the new hip joint one should avoid bending
it more than 90 degrees was the point they were making. Just thought I'd
pass that on (the xray didn't make it look like fun).

I can see my 3-year old grand-daughter in her little battery-driven Barbie car... all over your yard.

It's magnificent, Brudda.
