Patrick,

..guess by now they have it pulled down and are tooling up...

wtm442 10-06-2007 03:01 AM

I assume that you did use lead based paint on the units.
Great pictures, especially the last one. :o

fsstnotch 10-06-2007 03:22 AM

Guess we now know what they'll have to offer us next! haha Of course they'll be much lower quality and harmful or fatal if swallowed!

RACER X #99 10-06-2007 05:22 AM

What will happen with these units is that six different companies will disassemble those units and reverse engineer them. They will then start munufacturing them and then offer to sell them (at 1/2 the price) to your former customers. This is what the Asian countries have been doing for years with American made high tech products.(low tech products too)
That's OK because it's a "global economy". That's what you can tell everybody when your former job is gone.

If it sound like I am pissed off at the US losing jobs to China, you are correct.

tamanaco 10-06-2007 06:13 AM

I agree 90%...my spin is four will go to companies for cloning, two will be re-labeled and used as sales demo's units!

fasterpatrick 10-06-2007 09:42 AM

We hold international patent rights on the stuff thats proprietairy(very small amount of unit), most of the other stuff already came from there and we sold it back for profit. Now thats stickin it to the man, Patrick

HI Cobra 10-06-2007 10:56 AM

Somehow I get the feeling the Chinese don't pay a whole lot of attention
to little things like patents, international or otherwise. If they didn't
get the equipment from you it would have come from someone else so at least your company got something from them.

trularin 10-06-2007 03:01 PM

Yup that packaging says a lot.

BMK 10-06-2007 09:25 PM

Heee and I have four genuine Polo shirts and a fist full of Rolex watches..%/

All genuine and purchased in Beijing whilst visiting the square...

Yes we see jobs go there also.

Some big Australian names such as Rip Curl, Billabong and Quicksilver to name a few. Hundreds of jobs lost to China leaving the Torquay and Ocean Grove areas with lots of unemployed surf workers.

Ron61 10-07-2007 04:48 AM

:)

Bernie,

Maybe we could start a lead based paint company in China. That way we could sell it cheap and still make a profit. :)

Ron :p

Ron,

Yes I see they have certainly thrown a few toy companies into a recal spin.

Having been there for four weeks I wonder about some of their workplace safety programs, wages and fair treatment...

Ron61 10-08-2007 05:39 AM

Bernie,

I was unaware that they had any standards there in any of their factories except do your work or be punished. Wages are very low and that is why so many of our companies ran over there as they can get workers for almost nothing and still keep raising the prices on what they sell here. I think their safety programs only kick in after a set amount of disasters. The latest being some of their coal mines. They need more Lawyers over there. We could certainly send them a few thousand and not be short here.

Ron :D

To quote the CEO from the company I retired from THE CHINESE WILL WORK FOR PEANUTS AND A 10X10 HOUSE (shipping crate). As a QC person I had to check some parts that were brought in the back door and gave our customers fits cause their(chinese) parts didn't fit. Cost the company big bucks to repair the junk and it still didn't work. ha ha ha the CEO was eating crow when I retired.
