Craigslist, ever use it?
I'm a believer! I never used that Craigslist thing, I hate 'yard sales', e-bay's to complicated. I generally call my friends and 'give away' whatever. Like the 5 horse power Honda gas engine portable air compressor, gave it to my friend the other day, tired of moving it around the place. With my son now gone off to college, major restructering going on. Listed on Craigslist my 200 cc Suzuki today, SOLD! Listed my moped today, SOLD! Listed my 250 Kawasaki today, SOLD! Listed my motorcycle trailor this afternoon, what the heck, I'm on a roll. Next up: Motorcycle jack, floor jack, tools, all kinds of stuff, EVERYTHING must go, Craigslist here I come!  Whew, loving the freedom of not having to deal with all this 'stuff'. Oh yeah, got the ERA listed there as well, got several calls and a couple of test drives, nothing firm yet.
...wonder what I can get for the coffee table, this sales stuff is addictive. **) |
What kind of tools? I'm looking for power tools.
Mike |
Ernie, what are you doing?
Tools...did you type the word tools? What have you got?? PM me. :D :D |
Nothing special, just the accumulation of to much 'stuff' over the years.
Of course tools are to heavy to consider shipping anything off island at a reasonable cost, not to mention the hassle of it all. I'm just going to look at stuff I haven't used for years and am tired of 'storing'. As well as things like, how many 1/2" wrenches does a guy really need? :D Surely 2 or 3 would be enough. A trans jack I used once, a motorcycle jack I bought and never used (doesn't work well with any of my 3 bikes). I've got a couple of roll away tool boxs, maybe I could get down to one, maybe not. You know, 'inventory control'. Pretty sure I won't be needing all those used spark plugs, fuel filters, hoses, etc. Used head gaskets. I mean come on, would YOU go with a used head gasket (trash can)! Feels good, out with the old, simplify my life, get lean! Big library, might even unload some books, all ready gave away the Encyclopedia set. |
Ernie,
I may have to come and check out your expendible tools. Shipping for me is no problem. I tried to sell a nice roll top desk for cheap and ended up giving it away. I have scored some great deals on wheels and tires on Craigslist. It is one of those things that you just have to keep checking and sooner or later someone will be selling just what you are looking for. |
Okay, you are cleaning house.
And, before you offer, no I do not need and used head gaskets ( Used ?? ). :D :D |
:D Hey those head gaskets came in handy when I was doing the 'dry run assembly' of my motor to check various clearances. But after compressing them for test purposes I got paranoid and went with brand new ones for the final assembly.
Flip, maybe you SHOULD come out some time and check things out. Let me get a little more organized first and I'll give you a call about whats up. On Craigslist I actually got a decent price or more than what I expected to be offered. For friends, heck the price would be rock bottom, it's about getting it out of here more than selling it. |
Ernie, you're not thinking of making room for something new...are you??
:D :D :D |
You mean like another dog? I got two all ready. :D No plans at all, just going through that 'empty nest' syndrome and wondering what the next phase is.
|
Lucky you be divorced - I am being put through the remodel, let's update
this, add that phase since my son has been gone. Never ending. |
It's taken all week to sell the motorcycle trailer, so I guess not everything sells instantly. And the money is being well spent. What my boy has learned so far in college (flight school actually).
"The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival." I'v spent some big money for him to figure that out... |
"The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival."
   I like this one as well: "Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there." |
Tru, That kind of fits in with the Navy pilots explanation at his hearing as to why he had crashed his jet fighter. Question, "Ok, now why did you crash a brand new jet fighter that cost millions on a clear day?" Answer, " I ran out of ideas, speed, and air all at the same time." He wasn't even reprimanded. Ron  |
