so which kit did you go with and why?

So it's pretty obvious that I'm new to the forums and the finer details of Cobra replica's, but that's why I'm here! I was wondering what some of you guys have to say about your kit and what you have to say about it , and/or others.

Any inpu is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Illuminum and welcome to your addiction,
This is a topic that comes up pretty regularly and there have been great discussions on the topic.
Up in the blue car, under Search, try "which kit" or "which manufacturer" and you'll see several recent threads on the topic.
Not to shut you down, I love my Superformance and would buy 2 more if I could, but it's just kinda a recurring subject, you know? IMHO, SPF (Superformance) offers the best quality and originality looks for the money.
You're entering a great time of year for a Cobra purchase, you can get some deals. If you haven't yet, check out www.cobracountry.com. They have a bunch for sale.
Hope to see you out there cruising soon!

There are tons of Cobra manufacturers. Here is a link to an Excel file that lists all ww manufacturers and websites. Good luck.

I gave serious consideration to SPF, ERA, and Backdraft. I felt that all were very good cars. I ended up buying the Backdraft largely because of the BMW running gear, as I have a lot of experience in performance tuning BMW suspensions. It also was the least expensive of the three. I have had no regrets.

To me the most important things were the body shape, the quality of the kit, and the reputation of the manufacturer.

After looking at most of the kits available, I purchased an ERA.

Just like Pat, only I chose Hurricane. Accurate body, quality materials, and I will absolutely stand by my word in saying.. THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

There should just be a sticky "what kit and why?" It'd save space in the long run!

I got my ERA basically for one simple reason. It had a 'real' side oiler, which is typical for a high quality car like ERA in the first place!

The 'other' replicas run a garden variety of 'whatever' under the hood.

...keeping it 'real'.
