Awesome.
Definitely a wow factor in something being 400 years old. Makes you wonder what else there is that is actually living that long.

After 'ice man' was found, I wondered what might be laying on the bottom where the glaciers break off and fall into the sea?.

Oh the horror. I can just hear those PETA crazies complaining about killing the animals.
Of course, I always thought that PETA was the abbr for "People Eating Tasty Animals."

I knew it was a tree that was the oldest, but I was more referring to the oldest animals. I figure it would have to be something in the deep parts of the ocean (less predators) I have always believed that there is still a lot of life on this planet that we haven't discovered. Scientists have discovered life in areas that were believed to be completely uninhabitable.

I hope they chose New England instead of Boston, only because of personal preference.

A more truthful headline would have been: "Scientists kill a clam, THEN discover it was the world's oldest living animal."
About a year ago, the local newspaper had headlines that said: "L.A.Cops kill 13-year-old driver of car". There was NO mention in the headline that the same 13 y.o. was a gang member, and was driving the stolen car AT the cops.
