Volkswagen beetle

Ya'll will think I am crazy, but my oldest boy has always wanted to restore an old beetle. He had one in high school. He is buying his first house and will now have a place to do it. He knows nothing about this but I am going to buy him one as a house warming gift. Lookin for something with sound body - pre 1968 - not already restored but maybe a driver. Anyone know of one within a couple hundred miles of DFW?

They make some pretty frickin hot motors to go in em and it ought to be fun!

If at all possible, try to get a 67. Best year ever.

Thanks - yes from what I read the 67 is the cream of the crop.

rblong-

I'm currently restoring a 1957 Oval window bug for my brother-in-law.....and from what I found out is that there are ALOT more parts available for the mid 60's on up...... so I'd stay in that timeframe....

BTW....soon as I get this done the wife said the COBRA could be next.....
