PS-even if he did have a Pertronix and a Holley-i'd still want him as a neighbor.
My problem with that incident,is that a call comes in,two burgalry suspects IN THE HOUSE NOW.The caller on the phone repeatedly stated he want to/would go outside to confront them with a shotgun. The dispatcher could sense this by the tone of his voice.Yet, it took the PD over SEVEN MINUTES to put someone on scene.Burgalry inprogress + an armed citizen and you take SEVEN MINUTESto get there?Pa-f*&king-thetic.

It says in the title he killed them both.
The cops took a little time to get there, I would like to know why the cops took so long.

I wouldn't want my neighbor to do that for me. I can replace my stuff, but a GOOD neighbor is hard to find. I can appreciate his attentions, but I personally think the call was enough, and to keep an eye on them. Very easily he could have been the one who got shot. Life, and limb was not in jeapordy in the situation.

1)How do you know they were taking "stuff that could be replaced"?
2)No the call wasn't good enough. It took them 7 minutes to respond to a "Armed citizen confronting two criminals who are possibly armed".How long do you think it would have taken them if the guy just called ,reported & hung up?
3)Texas,as well as Arizona law says you can use deadly force to defend property. The guy was in the right.
Betcha no $hitheads are going capering in that 'hood again.

I never said he wasn't within his rights. I said I would be worried about my neighbor. I can't think of one thing in my home except for my wife I would want my neighbor to risk his life for.
I have had my home attacked in the middle of the night. I know my rights!

It's not about rights. It's about not putting up with $hit. It's bad enough people break into your house but then you have to put up with a slow cops?!The guy deserves a medal.

I never said he didn't deserve a medal. He has my admiration for standing up for what is right. I understand not putting up with any $HIT. I shot the basturd at my door right after he knocked on it with his foot at 2am. I am not against your thinking. I would just hate to see my GOOD neighbor jeapordize his life for my STUFF!
I never depend on the police to showup. When $HIT happens it sometimes is over in seconds. I am a single-handed sailor, and as well on land as the ocean. I depend on no one else. No one, and I do mean no one is going to protect ME like I protect ME, and my own. I think I have done a good job for 56 years, and I will keep it up until my last breath. Believe me listening to the recording gave me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing there are other people with the intestinal fortitude of that gentleman.

Bill,
You just might be surprised how close we are in many things. Next time you go to GnR. Take a drive through E. St. Louis. I owned the corner on 58Th & State St. some 30+ years ago. That was part of my formative years......LOL.
My brother lives just 5 miles away from the track in Collinsville. I just might make it next year myself. I was hoping to get there this year, but couldn't get away from the new business.

At least they did show up. Here they just tell us to call dispatch and then nothing ever happens. I even had the desk officer tell me they don't go to houses, if anything is wrong to just send in a report. And they wonder why so many people around this area carry guns.
Ron :(

Same thing here too Ron, except you cannot get a concealed carry permit.
The police admit they can't do anything but you better not do what that guy
did here because you would get jailed for sure. Pathetic.

I was talking to a couple of fella's about this and one said 'if you ask someone to look after your property' it's somehow a legal transfer of responsibility?.
Jamo or anyone confirm or deny this?....
