The United States of America's next president won't be its first president of Italian ancestry (as Rudy Giuliani hopes), because the Republicans won't nominate a person who does not share the Republicans' traditional pro-life, pro-personal morality values; or the first former prisoner-of-war (as John McCain still yearns), because now he's too old for the grueling job and previously he was too inclined to break with most Republicans and join with Democrats (McCain-Feingold, Kennedy-McCain, Gang of Fourteen); or the first Baptist minister (as Mike Huckabee prays), because he's not up to the job, he's not the best choice and one president born in Hope, Arkansas was one too many.

But there WILL be big change.

The next president will be the first female president, or the first half-black president (Barack's mother was white and ignoring that is...not right), or the first Mormon president.

Much of the media really would prefer Obama versus McCain, and have been broadcasting, reporting and editorializing accordingly, but the politically adept Clintons will do whatever it takes to win the Democrat nomination.

Nevertheless, in the end, enough Republicans will refuse to succumb to religious bigotry and reject a monogamous Mormon who shares their basic values for a man who divorced his first wife and married a rich, much younger divorcee whose family could support his political ambitions.

Don't like McCain, but Mitt will not be the Republican candidate. Seems like the author didn't get the memo.

Romney, like Clinton, is a 'say anything to get elected' kind of politician. Under Romney, MA lost more jobs and people than I have ever seen happen. And anybody who used flip-flopping as a reason to not vote for, or belittle, Kerry really needs to look a bit harder at Romney.

Romney is second, after Clinton, on my 'Do Not Vote' list.

And yes - if it came down to Romney or Clinton, I would write down Ron Paul even if he is a racist.:cool:

That's more than passingly strange thinking, Steve. But, since you are more than passingly strange it fits into your past posts and thinking, if nothing else you are consistent.

By the way - a vote for Paul is not really a vote at all, at least not one that will make a difference - but, thousands of nutjobs have voted for Paul in the primaries - it seems a little insane, but not in your world.

You and all the other sheep in this country limit your own thinking by only voting for the 'mainstream' idiots that the two big parties give you, rather than look at what the actual issues are and vote for the guy who best represents your interests.

Whilst I fully admit that Paul is not the perfect candidate for me, he is a helluva a lot closer than anybody else running.

He supports low taxes and low spending.
He supports the right to bear arms.
He favours property rights (Remember Kelo vs. City of New London??).
He favours treating vets quite a bit better than they are now by your candidate of choice.
He favours controlling our borders.

Too bad I am going to waste my vote on that, right?:rolleyes:
