Will this work???
I have the basic netflix, $8.99 unlimited, one at a time deal. I didn't even notice that my plan allows unlimited, instant movies on my PC!. Only, I don't care to watch movies on my PC. Anyway.. My TV has a PC plug in and I was wondering...can I plug my lap top into the TV and watch a netflix movie?.

You should be able to. I don't know if you have to configure any options or not as I haven't used mine for that.

Short of just plugging everything in, is there a particular process?.

If it does, I'll need to visit radio shack and pick up one of those...whateveryoucallit..connector. It's small, blue and has 15-20 connector slots.

It should work without issue for you. Please keep in mind that the graphics that your laptop is capable of is the best picture you are going to get. If you are watching it on a large HDTV (assuming since most regular don't have a PC plug) then you may not have a very good picture. Same goes for your audio. I would recommend using the Audio Out on the PC to the TV/home theater as well. You should not experience much audio loss doing this, so long as you have a decent audio card on the laptop.

Check what graphics your laptop is capable of. The new laptop that I just got for work has very good graphics capabilities. It even has an HDMI output at 1080i.

HDMI is what my TV and my Son's Apple uses.
Perry,
Why not go down to your local TV repair business and pick up a used TV that will do what you want ?? It would be cheap.

The TV will work. That is not the problem. The picture may not be as good as you are used to seeing on the TV. If you are OK with that, then you are golden. Netflix may also only download a lower quality video because of the bandwidth that the higher quality requires. I do not know. I would say hook the laptop up, pop a dvd in and see how it looks. If it is similar to the dvd player, then your graphics are good enough. If you do not like how it looks at all, then you know. The standard analog PC cable (blue) is pretty cheap. If you were local to me, I would give you one. I have 1 or 2 that I am not using.
