Yeah. Aluminum Mustang.

I figure since I've got some extra space, I might as well start on another years-long project. So I'm thinkin' I may go with either a kit-built Mustang or a P-40 Warhawk replica. The price on the Titan Mustang just jumped up, but I may have a lead on an unfinished kit. To add to my pile of other unfinished kits... :rolleyes:

Now that would be nice. Can you register it under the FAAs version of SB-100 or do they have any restrictions on them if they are safe and meet all the requirements?

The requirements list is long and requires so much documentation it's scary. The FAA looks over your build, your shoulder, your prostate and places even darker and more frightening than that. Of course, I am fine with that; I'd rather not have to pull over to the curb when I'm 8,000 up.

The P-38 - which is no longer in my hands - is going to be a certificated airplane - no EXPERIMENTAL in big letters on it. It's got all kinds of requirements!

This little plane (it only goes 197mph) will be registered as experimental.

Well it should be a lot of fun to fly and that is plenty fast unless you plan to fly coast to coast. And even then that would beat driving all to the devil. They have a car/airplane show up here every year called Wings and Wheels. I have seen a couple that people brought in that they were in the process of building and only had maybe the skeleton done.
